2018 Volkswagen T-Roc Review

Volkswagen has been at the forefront of advanced automotive technology for decades now, and since the company is amongst the UK’s most favoured car makers, it comes as no surprise to find that yet another model has been added to its existing fleet of practical motors. But the question is, can it live up to our every expectation? Find out below!

Overview

Spacious and generous in size, it’s unlikely that someone would hop into the front of the new T-Roc and find that there’s not quite enough room to sit comfortably. Its name is a dead giveaway, really, and since it sounds very similar to ‘T-Rex’ – the huge, carnivorous and prehistoric predator – it’s likely that all VW lovers will forever thank the company for the new member of the SUV squad.

What’s it Like?

As you’d imagine, the cabin and general interior space offered is in no way sparse, and the new T-Roc is sure to get you around easy – with very few problems whatsoever! However, even though the head space is comfortable, and the SUV allows more than enough room for passengers to remain seated for the entire duration of a lengthy journey, leg room is an entire different story altogether. Unfortunately, for an SUV, the T-Roc is quite the let down when it comes to being able to move your feet around in the back end of the car. So, if you’re planning on carrying 3 in the back, perhaps you should take a rain check or at least make sure your passengers are small enough to be squashed back there!

Driving Experience

In terms of the driving then, well, the new T-Roc is more than enjoyable. You have the choice between the 1.0-litre and the 2.0-litre petrol engines (no, not the most efficient), and there’s even an alternative 2.0-litre diesel engine option, too. So, whatever your preferences, you can still get around in the T-Roc without worrying too much about what the fuel’s doing to the inside of the engine! But, depending on the specs and which type you opt for, the T-Roc can be quite costly based on your ‘wants’ and what have you. Nevertheless, Volkswagen’s T-Roc is amongst the most comfortable small SUVs on the current market and is sure to gain more fans thanks to the refined experience it offers on the roads.

Verdict

Overall, there’s not much that you could hope for and not find in the new VW T-Roc SUV. With plenty of space for passengers, lots of advanced infotainment options and a comfortable experience through and through, some have said that Volkswagen’s latest and hottest SUV offers great value for money – and that it certainly does! Not only that, but Euro NCAP has awarded the T-Roc five out of five stars for safety and confirmed that Volkswagen’s new SUV is better at protecting adults, children and pedestrians than the earlier Q2 and Arona models.
